This is a basic pound cake recipe. I like to sprinkle some sugar on top before baking it give it a nice crust or maybe add some citrus zest to change up the flavor profile. Use it as a blank canvas.
Ingredients

2 Sticks Butter1 Cup Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla
4 Eggs
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/8 tsp Salt
1 3/4 Cups AP Flour
By Weight
226 grams Butter200 grams Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla
4 Eggs
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/8 tsp Salt
230 grams Flour
Preparation
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy
- Add the eggs one at a time until mixed well
- Add the vanilla
- Sift together the dry ingredients
- Add dry a little at a time until incorporated
- Batter will look lumpy until dry ingredients are added then it will smooth out
- Bake at 350 degrees until done, about 35-45 minutes
