1 Vanilla Bean
2 Cups Egg Yolks

1 Qt Buttermilk1 Qt Heavy Cream
3 Cups Sugar
1 Vanilla Bean
1 Egg Yolks
Preparation
- Heat buttermilk, heavy cream, sugar and vanilla beans to a simmer
- Temper into egg yolks
- Heat mixture to 160 degrees
- Chill in an ice water bath
- When chilled, turn in an ice cream machine according to manufacturers directions
