A great tart for any time of the year.
Ingredients
By Measure
4 Pears - Peeled, cored and sliced into 1/4" slices or 6 cups sliced1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Mascarpone Cheese
1/4 Cup Sour Cream
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
Juice of Half a Lemon
1 Pie Dough - Your favorite recipe or store bought
By Weight
4 Pears - Peeled, cored and sliced into 1/4" slices or 6 cups sliced4 Ounces Sugar
8 Ounces Mascarpone Cheese
2 Ounces Sour Cream
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
Juice of Half a Lemon
1 Pie Dough - Your favorite recipe or store bought
Preparation
- Toss the pears in the lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.
- Mix 1/2 of the sugar with the mascarpone cheese, sour cream, egg and vanilla.
- Lay your rolled out pie dough in a 9-inch fluted tart pan with the excess hanging over the edges.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture in the bottom of your tart shell.
- Layer the pears over the cheese mixture.
- Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the pears.
- Fold the excess dough over the edges of the tart for a rustic look.
- Bake at 375 degrees F until the crust is golden - about 35-50 minutes.
