Rustic Pear & Cream Cheese Tart Recipe


Ingredients
By Measure
4 Pears - Peeled, cored and sliced into 1/4" slices or 6 cups sliced
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Mascarpone Cheese
1/4 Cup Sour Cream
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
Juice of Half a Lemon
1 Pie Dough - Your favorite recipe or store bought
 
By Weight
4 Pears - Peeled, cored and sliced into 1/4" slices or 6 cups sliced
4 Ounces Sugar
8 Ounces Mascarpone Cheese
2 Ounces Sour Cream
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
Juice of Half a Lemon
1 Pie Dough - Your favorite recipe or store bought

 
 
Preparation

  1. Toss the pears in the lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.
  2. Mix 1/2 of the sugar with the mascarpone cheese, sour cream, egg and vanilla.
  3. Lay your rolled out pie dough in a 9-inch fluted tart pan with the excess hanging over the edges.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture in the bottom of your tart shell.
  5. Layer the pears over the cheese mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the pears.
  7. Fold the excess dough over the edges of the tart for a rustic look.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees F until the crust is golden - about 35-50 minutes.
