A traditional glazed ham with a habit: A little Bourbon and rum.
Ingredients
By Measure
1 ounce rum1 ounce Kentucky bourbon
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground clove
pinch cinnamon
1 orange, sliced
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients together to make the glaze.
- Cook the ham as requested by the manufacturer.
- Before placing the ham in the oven brush the ham with a light coat of the bourbon glaze.
- Allow the ham to cook until 45 minutes remain in the cooking process. During the remaining cooking process gently brush the ham with more bourbon glaze every 10 minutes until done.
