Dinner Rolls Recipe
Butter in the dough. Butter on the dough. Butter at the table. This can't be bad.

These rolls are as easy as they are tasty.
Ingredients
By Measure
3 3/4 Cups Flour1/3 Cup Sugar
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Instant Yeast
1 Stick Butter - Softened
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Warm Water
1/2 Cup Warm Milk
Preparation
- In the bowl of a mixer with the paddle attachment combine the flour, sugar, salt, yeast and half of the butter and mix until well combined then switch to the dough hook attachment.
- Add the egg and mix until combined
- Add the water and milk and knead for 5 minutes
- Cover the dough and let it double in size
- Divide the dough in half and roll into rectangles about 1/4 inch thick
- Spread the remaining butter over the dough
- At this point you can make whatever shapes youd like.
- For Crescents: Cut the dough in wedges and roll starting with the wide end. Make sure you place them on the pan seam side down to prevent unrolling.
- For Rolls: Roll the entire rectangle into a log, slice about 3/4 inch thick slices and gently form into a ball.
- For A Cinnamon Roll Look: Roll and slice as above but place slices on sheet tray as they are.
- After shaping, allow to proof in a warm spot for 1 hour.
- Bake in a 375 degree oven until golden (about 10-12 minutes)
