Vienna Bread


Ingredients
3 ½ Cups Bread Flour
1 tsp Sugar
2 tsp Salt
1 Tbs Molasses
1 Tbs Vegetable Oil
1 Egg Yolk
1 Packet (1/4 Ounce) Instant Yeast aka RapidRise® or QuickRise®
Water As Needed
 
Preparation

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, molasses, vegetable oil, egg yolk and yeast until well combined
  2. Add water and mix until dough forms and it is slightly tacky
  3. Knead for 4-5 minutes on low speed
  4. Cover bowl with a damp cloth and allow to double in size
  5. Form into desired shape. You can also use a loaf pan.
  6. Spray with oil and cover loosely with plastic wrap
  7. Allow to double in size again
  8. Bake at 375 degrees until golden. I like to bake to an internal temperature of 200 degrees
  9. Remove from loaf pan or sheet pan and allow to cool…if you can.
