Latin Spiced Beef Recipe


Ingredients
By Measure
1# Flat Iron Steak or Ribeye Steak Sliced Very Thin Into 1 1/2" Long Pieces
1/2 Cup Corn Starch
3 Tbs Fajita Seasoning
3 Tbs Smoked Paprika or Regular Paprika
4 6" Corn or Flour Tortillas Cut Into 8 Wedges Each
1 Ripe Avocado
1 tsp Minced Garlic
1 Lime
1/2 Cup Red Onion Sliced Very Thin
1/2 Cup Cilantro Chopped Fine
1 Tbs Oil
Salt and Pepper To Taste
 
Preparation

  1. Toss the sliced beef with the corn starch until well coated
  2. Fry in a deep fryer in 350 degree oil until crispy then toss with the fajita seasoning and the smoked paprika and season with salt and pepper then set aside
  3. Fry the tortilla wedges until crispy and set aside
  4. Make a basic guacamole by peeling and mashing the avocado with the garlic and the juice and zest from 1/2 of the lime and season with salt and pepper then set aside
  5. Mix together the red onion, cilantro, juice from 1/2 the lime and oil and season with salt and pepper then set aside
  6. Place a small amount of the guacamole on each fried tortilla chip
  7. Top with a piece of the seasoned, crispy beef
  8. Garnish with the red onion and cilantro "salad"
