So flavored beers are hit or miss for me.  Most often a miss.  They seem to either be too heavy-handed with the flavoring or too artificial tasting or both.  Not a good combination.  So when a grapefruit hefeweizen from Schofferhofer was brought by I was understandably skeptical.  I was wrong.  This is a beer for Spring and Summer for sure.  It was paired with a dessert I made for a dinner.  Grapefruit cake with grapefruit icing and it went amazingly well.  I like beer with dessert over wine most of the time and this fit perfectly.  It’s a low ABV beer at 2.5% but is so refreshing and clean you’ll never miss it.  Look for it and pick up a 4-pack.  Enjoy.
