Ingredients
By Measure
For The Pretzels:3 1/2 Cups Bread Flour
1 tsp Instant Yeast
1 1/2 tsp Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Salt
Water As Needed
For The Boiling:
1 Gallon Water
1/4 Cup Salt
1 Tbs Baking Soda
For The Egg Wash:
2 Eggs
1/4 Cup Water
Preparation
- In the bowl of an electric mixer stir together the flour, yeast, sugar and salt
- Add water and knead until dough is soft and does not stick to the sides or bottom of the bowl
- Oil the bowl, cover and let rise until double in size
- Bring water, salt and baking soda to a boil
- Cut small pieces of dough and roll into 6-inch to 8-inch lengths
- Twist into a pretzel shape and boil for one minute
- Lay out on a greased sheet pan and brush with the egg wash
- Bake at 400 degrees until nicely browned
