Not your ordinary chicken and dumplings.
Ingredients
By Measure
1 Cup Flour
2 Eggs
1/2 Cup Water
2 Tbs Oil
1/2 Cup Julienned Onions
2 Tbs Butter
1 Tbs Chopped Garlic
8 Cups Spinach
Zest form 1/2 a Lemon
1/2 Cup Shredded Gouda
2 Tbs Mustard
Salt and Pepper To Taste
1 Cup Flour

1 Tbs Chopped Garlic
8 Cups Spinach
Zest form 1/2 a Lemon
1/2 Cup Shredded Gouda
2 Tbs Mustard
Salt and Pepper To Taste
Preparation
- For the dumplings: mix together the flour, eggs and water until well combined
- Scoop the dumplings into desired size and cook in simmering, salted water like you would pasta until they float and are cooked through
- For the sauce: heat the oil over medium-high heat and sauté the onions until soft
- Add the butter and cook until the butter is light brown
- Add the garlic and spinach and cook until spinach is wilted
- Add the lemon zest, gouda and mustard and season to taste with salt and pepper
- Add the cooked dumplings and toss to coat well
- Makes about 4 servings
