Caramel Popcorn
A great treat anytime but especially when the leaves start to turn and the weather turns cool.

Ingredients
1 1/4 Cups Brown Sugar
2 Tbs Butter
1/4 Cup Corn Syrup
1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar
2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
4 Quarts Popped Popcorn
1 Cup Nuts (Optional)
Preparation
- Pop the corn in your desired method
- Combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and cream of tartar in a pan and bring to 260° over medium-high heat
- Add vanilla, salt and baking soda and mix well
- Pour over popcorn and nuts and mix carefully until popcorn is coated
- Spread onto a baking sheet and bake at 250° stirring frequently for 1 ½ hours
- A good indicator that it is ready is when the caramel doesn’t seem to be sticky anymore
