Turkish Coffee Recipe


Ingredients
By Measure
1/2 Cup Fine Ground Coffee
4 Cups Water
1/2 Cup Sugar (Optional)
 
Preparation

  1. After getting the ground coffee from the machine pass it through the "fine" setting on the spice grinder.
  2. Bring the water to a boil
  3. Place coffee and sugar, if using, in the pan and stir until the coffee stops floating
  4. Bring to a simmer over medium heat (the coffee will foam but do not let it boil)
  5. Take off the heat for 1 minute but do not stir
  6. Return to the heat and bring back to a simmer
  7. Take off the heat for 1 minute but do not stir
  8. Return to the heat for the last time and bring back to a simmer
  9. Take off the heat and pour into cups making sure to get as much foam as possible in each cup
  10. Allow to sit in the cup for 2 minutes to let the grounds settle in the bottom
  11.
