Quick Pita Bread


Ingredients
Quick pita bread / you will need a pizza stone for this recipe
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
2.5 teaspoons of quick or instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 ½ cups warm water
 
Preparation

Combine the flour and yeast. Mix to blend ingredients. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until it comes together as a ball. Knead the dough for 6-9 minutes until dough becomes smooth and forms a ball.
Cut the dough into 10 equal portions. Roll each into a ball. Place on a sheet pan prepped with a nonstick spray. Cover the balls with a damp cloth for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 500 degrees F
Roll each ball with a rolling pin into an oval about 3-4 mm thick. Place on a lightly floured sheet pan then cover with a damp towel for 40 minutes.
Gently lift the ovals from the sheet pan and place directly on the pizza stone. Cook for 5-6 minutes. Cook in batches depending on the size of the pizza stone.
