3 Cups Quick Cooking Oats
1 Cup Slivered Almonds
1 Cup Chopped Pecans or Walnuts
1 Cup Shredded Coconut
½ Cup Packed Brown Sugar
½ tsp Salt
1 ¼ Cups Dried Fruit
½ Cup Maple Syrup
1 Egg White
¼ Cup Oil – Vegetable, Corn, Canola or a Nut Oil
1. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl
2. In a separate bowl mix the wet ingredients
3. Combine the two and mix well
4. Spray a sheet pan with pan spray
5. Pour the granola on and spread it out evenly over the pan
6. Make sure it is all one thickness
7. Bake at 250 degrees for 90 minutes to 2 hours without stirring…you want it toasted
8. Allow to cool completely
9. Break into chunks and eat or store in an airtight container
NOTE: There are lots of flavored nut varieties on the market today. Cinnamon Sugar. Cocoa. Coconut. Buttered Toffee. Try those in place of the other nuts to add different flavors
NOTE: Don’t be afraid to add some spice to the dry mix as well. Cinnamon is always a good choice but nutmeg or cayenne is great too.
